Android Blues

Came across this artists website, with some amazing images. Here are a few of my faves.

Fairy Queen

Crop Circles on Google Maps!

You know how Google Maps has caught people being robbed, or standing in front of their window naked. Well now they seem to have caught a UFO in the act of making crop circles!
This one just happened to be in my backyard, here in Falls Church!!

Real Life Photoshop

If Photoshop was in the real world, this is what it would look like. The Flickr photoset shows the how it was constructed. And gives you a bit more perspective on the scaling of it.

Writing on the Bills

Somehow I came across this site, that has pics of bills with various drawings, markings, etc written on them. I know when my girls were younger and they would loose a tooth, I would inscribe a dollar bill with "tooth fairy" markings on it. I wonder what people thought when they got one of those. Maybe one day one of my bills will pop up on this site.

Some of the comments on the site, left by readers, are just hilarious in their own right.

Stealth

I stumbled upon this interesting outdoor sculpture.

Michael de Broin is a sculptor whose works typically embody a single concept in a visually striking way. For his outdoor scuplture Superficielle, a large rock which is obscured entirely by mirrors, that concept is the theme of transparency.

The sculpture is in Alsace, France. Yet another reason for a trip!

Those Wacky Cartoons

jCauty&SON are holding a Splatter exhibition at The Aquarium in London. The multi-media art show focuses on “the plausible impossibility of death in the mind of cartoon characters”.

jCauty&SON is also selling a bunch of limited edition prints from the exhibit.

Human Canvas

Kim Joon has an interesting approach to painting.

The pictures and images of tattoo which he works on look that he takes a nude photo and compounds with them, but he works on the upside of the digital body produced by computer graphics from the beginning to the end. He makes a large group of people by making a phase and coating a tattoo with his computer mouse, like a virtual person produced by computer. He intends to use 'mouse ainting' instead of 'brush painting'. It is unique to use a 'One Source, Multi Use', which is a source made of digital data outputs through a digital print, beam projection, a monitor, and so on.

In Mr. Kim's current works, which the artist likes to describe as "paintings", he uses water based markers to create the designs. His process involves taking a piece of sponge and covering it in a layer of traditional cloth that is used as fabric liner in Korean sewing. The lining is then covered with very transparent fabric, and painted two coats of a skin colored hue. He also layers on mediums and finally varnishes the surface to create a more firm appearance. Mr. Kim remains fascinated between the tensions of the mind and body. He is also intrigued by the concept of the permanence of tattoos as a vehicle for marking ones soul.

Super Mario Obama World

It's just like Mario World, except starring our new President-Elect! I found a snazzy write up for it on InventorSpot.

The sound & the fury is over at last and junkies for presidential politics are faced with going cold turkey. The solution? "Super Obama World", the Donkey Kong style video game
that pits Obama against Palin on her frozen home turf.

Sure, the 2008 presidential election ran far too long and cost way too much, but nobody can deny it provided more entertainment value than Joe The Plumber can shake a toilet plunger at. Now that the fun has ended, fans of political gamesmanship - and us regular guys & gals - can keep fighting the good fight onscreen at Super Obama World!

The design is retro... we're talking vintage Donkey Kong gameplay here. To their credit, the designers of the game (ZenSoft) made great efforts to include as many Election '08 themes as they could squeeze in. I'm sure there were a lot I missed as I haven't been able to get bouncing Barack all the way to the end yet.

Alaska, pigs (and pitbulls) in lipstick, even VP wannabe Sarah Palin herself makes an appearance on her "snow machine". Look out, dontcha know! Through it all, the Obama main character maintains both his casual cool and his megawatt smile. Just like in real life!

The game requires the newest version of Flash which I don't have on my computer yet. So I'll have to wait and try it out later.

Dear Jane,
Are you sure this drawing of a spider is the one I sent you? This spider only has seven legs and I do not feel I would have made such an elementary mistake when I drew it.

Regards, David.

Hello, I am back and have read through your emails and accept that despite missing a leg, that drawing of a spider may indeed be the one I sent you. I realise with hindsight that it is possible you rejected the drawing of a spider due to this obvious limb ommission but did not point it out in an effort to avoid hurting my feelings. As such, I am sending you a revised drawing with the correct number of legs as full payment for any amount outstanding. I trust this will bring the matter to a conclusion.

Regards, David.

I understand and will definately make a payment this week if I remember. As you have not accepted my second drawing as payment, please return the drawing to me as soon as possible. It was silly of me to assume I could provide you with something of completely no value whatsoever, waste your time and then attach such a large amount to it.

Regards, David.

Classic Kiss

I'm really digging some of these classically styled pieces from Ron English, with an infusion of Kiss' kabuki make-up on all the characters. Though I noticed there's no Eric Carr or Vinnie Vincent.

Kissed by An Angel

Peter and Paul

Kiss Consultation

Kiss The Bride

Oh wait there does appear to be an Eric Carr one!
Apples and Oranges

If you click on the images (especially the Kiss the Bride) you can see a larger more detailed version. All these prints and more are on display right now at the Shooting Gallery in San Francisco.

Silhouette

I stumbled upon these interesting wallpaper designs.
Floral Femme Fatale brings modern sophistication to the world of floral wallpaper. This unique design of 5 stunning female silhouettes and 1 foliage panel allow for complete customization so no two Floral Femme rooms need ever be alike.
