American Apparel Ads *NSFW*

Wow! All I can say is WOW!!

I can't believe American Apparel can get away with running these ads!

So the other day I noticed the next image, after the jump, and loved the model's derrier. (Kind of reminded me of my GF's lovely tuckus!) Anyways, the ad appeared in the back of The City Paper, and so I went to look for the image online, and was astounded to find so many almost porn images that have appeared in numerous other ads.

Via: American Apparel's ads have always been suggestive, but not in a sexy, creative way. The ads, often shot by CEO Dov Charney, tend to possess more of a sleazy, Dirk Diggler-ish quality with seemingly underage women in porn-type poses. A new American Apparel advertising campaign featuring professional porn performers is currently running on two blogs - Reverse CowGirl and Debauchette. Fast Company recently ran a story about Charney and the ads - and the guy attends meetings in his underwear and defends it. Gross! Reverse Cowgirl counters feminist distaste for the ads by suggesting they are not anti--feminist because they were shot by a women photographer. Ah ok - that is a pretty lame defense. Check them out at the websites above and let me know what you think.
